One of the first if not the first half marathons took place in Bohermeen in April 1973 when it was a Meath championship which grew into a Leinster and eventually a National championship. The aim of the promotion is to give runners an early confidence booster for the spring marathons in places near and far like Paris, London, Boston ,Connemara ,Belfast ,Newry and Cork. The Course The course for the titled Meath Spring half marathon will take in two fast laps starting on the Newline and running left hand through Ongenstown towards Navan Athboy road towards Navan and left on the Boyerstown road. The course is designed to help runners from the elite to fun runner to get a decent time and also will give all runners a new half marathon challenge right on their door step with a very reasonable entry fee.
